Geocaching is enjoyed by people from all age groups, with a strong sense of community and support for the environment.
The global treasure hunting game for all the family.
The Brecon Beacons National Park has 160 caches or treasure boxes hidden within it, all waiting to be found. This is an ideal way to get everyone out into the countryside, having fun together.
All you need is a hand held GPS device together with information from the geocaching website to start your quest.
There aren't many rules and they are quite straight forward:
1. Dont let other people (muggles) see you with the cache, return it to the exact same spot.
2. If you take something from the cache then you should put something in its place of similar value and of course it should be a safe, child friendly item.
3. Make sure you sign the log book.
4. Log your find on the geocaching website.
5. If you decide to set a geocache of your own you must ask the landowners permission.
6. Always follow the Countryside Code at all times.
7. And last but not least Have Lots of FUN!
If you are new to geocaching or would like a guide to give you peace of mind whilst walking in the mountains then we have several walks that pick up at least 3 caches per walk.
The price is £20 per adult £10 per child (there would be a supplement for less than 6 and a discount for more than 8). The price includes the loan of good quality waterproof jackets and outer trousers if required.
