The Taff Bargoed Valley has a rich industrial heritage. During the industrial revolution the area was home to the Trelewis drift mine and the Deep Navigation colliery‚ now it is a haven for wildlife such as Red Kite and Otters.
Castell Coch is a 19th century Gothic revival castle built on the remains of a 13th century fortification. The Taff trail 'high route' walks you right through the front garden for some great photo opportunities.
